Alder / Rustic Alder / Clear Alder
There are knotty and clear distinctions for this particular species. Knotty alder will have knots that vary in size and shape. It will have a beautiful rustic look finished natural or with any range of stain colors. Clear alder is a fine, brown-hued wood that will not posses the knots or variations found in the knotty variety. Clear alder takes stain exceptionally well. This wood is similar in density to pine – rather soft and easily dented.
